Breathing Exercise is an interactive virtual reality experience designed to help patients manage stress and reduce anxiety through the proven 7-5-8 breathing technique. This simple yet powerful method is enhanced through immersive visuals and audio guidance that support focus and relaxation.
In the experience, patients are gently guided to inhale for 7 seconds, hold their breath for 5 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds. This rhythmic breathing pattern calms the nervous system, promotes mindfulness, and helps ease both physical and emotional tension. The surrounding virtual environment—complete with soothing visuals and calming audio cues—encourages deep focus, allowing patients to fully engage with the practice.
Research has shown that controlled breathing, including diaphragmatic techniques like 7-5-8, can improve attention, lower stress levels, and reduce negative emotions (Ma et al., 2017).
